What is ‘Life Coaching’ anyways….

Do you find the prospect of Life Coaching scary? Are you afraid of Life Coaching, maybe just a little bit?

Maybe you aren't quite sure what it is or what questions you will be asked? 

Can it help me? How does it work? 

What actually IS Life Coaching, what is the point of it? 

I have noticed that some people seem to be a little afraid of Life Coaching so I wanted to clear a few things up for anyone that maybe hesitant about hiring a Life Coach.

I realise that not everyone is interested in Life Coaching and that is fine. We are all on our own journey and doing things at our own pace. Personal development maybe something that doesn't even occur to some people or maybe they have just never been given any information on what it is or how it can help them.

The fact is, we are all pretty similar, us humans.

We all have similar thought patterns, we worry about the same things and we struggle with the same issues.

Whether you are an unemployed person or a CEO, a teenager or a retired person, male or female.

We all have negative thought processes and beliefs that effect the way we live our lives and how we see the world.

Some people are taught these beliefs by the people around them, maybe from bad life experiences or from forming certain beliefs about what their life possibilities are.

Life Coaching is a way to help you to change the trajectory of your life to make you happier!

It doesn't even have to be anything huge, we can work on the way you treat yourself. Maybe you have a lot of negative self talk. That voice in your head that tells you that you are worthless, or fat, or stupid, or talks you out of doing things. Life Coaching can be focused around changing this behaviour within yourself, changing the way you treat yourself and seeing yourself in a different light.

Procrastination is a big one!! I suffered from this a lot, still do sometimes but I can catch it in the act now!

Procrastinating is when you basically avoid doing something or keep putting it off. There is always a reason behind it so it can be helpful to work on this so that you can push past it and actually get shit done!

Low confidence, not believing in yourself, fear of failure, fear of humiliation, these can all be hiding behind the procrastinating. Once you look at this with a Life Coach, you can begin to see the pattern and that gives you the power to choose a different behaviour. It's great because then you live your life differently and actually do the things that will make you happy, rather than having the vicious cycle running around in your mind that just gets you nowhere!

Anxiety can be a big one too. If you live too much in the past or too much in the future within your mind, this is when anxiety shows up. If you spend a lot of time worrying about what has already happened or what might happen again, this can cause a lot of anxiety within your body. Mindfulness is a great technique for this issue as it helps you to be in the present, hence lowering your worry about past or future events. 

I have a massive interest in the Law of Attraction or manifesting as I prefer to call it and I specialise in this area. Its my super power.

If you have things in you life that make you unhappy, it is great to first see if there is anything you can do to change that situation with real life action. Alongside this though, I always recommend using your manifesting tool too.

Embrace your inner witch!

Sometimes we just need to move our focus away from what is making us unhappy, to a more positive thought instead. 

If you are wanting more money in your life, by worrying constantly about bills, you are always focusing on the negative so your reality will keep giving you more of this. As hard as it can be to shift your attention away from a real life problem, sometimes this is the most powerful way to move forward.

You need to focus on what you want, not what you don't want!

The Law of Attraction is a real force in our world and there is an abundance of books on this subject.

It 100% works, if you put the time and effort into it. This is the sticky part too. A lot of people are not committed enough to make changes in their life. They may say that they want to change their life but in reality, they won't step up and take that first step. This is something that I have really noticed recently. Because I am so passionate about personal development, I assume that everyone else is too, but that is not the case. 

Also I think a big part of it is that some people don't believe that there is another way of being, that they don't have a choice in how their life unfolds.

I was definitely one of these people. I had no idea that we created our reality, that we could manifest what we wanted. I had no clue that my thought pattern was holding me back, I didn't even realise that personal development was a thing! I had some strong negative family patterns around me and I didn't realise that there were other ways to think, other ways of being, or that I even had the power to change the way my mind worked. Not a clue.

I think there are still a lot of people that don't realise how much their thoughts effect their lives in a negative way, or maybe some people don't realise that they can change them. WELL YOU CAN!!!! How amazing is that!

You totally can change your life for the better and that is what I do in my sessions.

We uncover what your limiting self beliefs are, what is holding you back and what you want to let go of.

Then we set clear actions each week to move you forward along with some reading, mindfulness and journaling exercises. It doesn't happen overnight but over the weeks, your thoughts will begin to shift. You will feel a change within yourself, and that is what we call 'aha' moments. When things start to click. 

You will feel a shift in your energy and your thoughts.

It is not therapy or counselling, we focus on the future and not the past.

Each session unblocks you a little more, you look at things differently and you begin to feel lighter. 

You have to work on this each week without me too. It is your journey and I am there to support you and guide you.

You have all of the answers within you, I just wriggle them free from underneath the mind clutter.

If you feel that you have more potential inside of you, that you want to make changes for yourself and your future, then Life Coaching can help you. 

If you think that your life can't improve, you don't believe in the Law of Attraction and you secretly enjoy drama and negative thinking, then I am not the coach for you. It is not my mission to convince people of living their life in a certain way, each to their own. Do whatever makes you happy.

When I first had coaching, I really didn't even know what I wanted to be coached on! I was just very stuck and didn't know how to move forward. This is fine too, sometimes we do just feel stuck and Life Coaching can help to pull you out, dust you off and support on your chosen path forward.

So, I hope that makes you feel a bit clearer about coaching and that is nothing to be scared of or nervous about. Saying that though I was shitting myself when I had my first coaching session so I totally get it! I just mean that it's ok to be nervous, but as I've said before 'FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY!'.
